good-bye letter to fringe - ending this friday with a 2 hour season finale

- a lot of this is tumblr / fandom speak so... yeah - As we all know, Fringe is not a “Big 3” fandom.  But I would argue – we all would argue – that our fandom has the biggest heart.  Many can say that they were saved by their show, but how many can say that they have saved their show? Supernatural might say that they are the fandom that could, but sorry, WE are the fandom that could.  Our show was cast from timeslot to timeslot, doomed to die & destined to fail, but it didn’t .  It wasn’t going to get a final season – but it did.  It wasn’t going to have a proper ending on its own terms – but it did.  WE did that.  WE did that with our social networking savvy.  With our seemingly useless little #messages & our pleas to members of our friends, family, coworkers, anyone who had ears... we kept our little show chugging along.  & it doesn’t even matter WHEN you started Fringe – the love you experience is just as power...

In honor of Fringe ending... let us copy-paste the Frimmy's in style

Fringe is repeating / “reborn” on the Science Channel.  If you haven't watched it, now is your best chance.  You can watch the three-episode blocks at a time on tuesday nights at 8.  Oh & sometimes the Science Channel just decides to splurge & have season-length marathons.  They've done so twice with Season 1 & once with Season 2.  Get on that stuff.  Fringe is amazing & now it's ending & if you haven't watched it by now, you have blown away your life, buster. Posted by  popculturenexus The Oscar nominations were announced this week, which means another big awards show just ignored the best show on television. (Okay, so in this particular case that’s understandable, seeing as  Fringe  is not eligible for the Academy Awards, but still…) The Oscars just serve to remind us of how many prestigious Hollywood award shows overlook the brilliance of  Fringe year after year. Seth MacFarlane can get an Academy Awa...

The Second Annual Supersonic Electronic Invitational, Opening Night:

Image
On Thursday, January 3rd 2013  Spoke Art  hosted the opening reception of the Second Annual Supersonic Electronic Invitational.  The show features 32 young contemporary artists who curator Zach Tutor feels are at the forefront of a new generation of visual arts.  With a line stretching down Sutter street hours before the doors even opened and a constant stream of visitors afterwards the show was more than a huge success.  Many of the 32 artists were in attendance for the opening and many local legends made their way through the crowd during the night.  Take a look at a ton more photos from the night after the jump. The show is  on display until January 26th  at  Spoke Art  and is a must see if you’re in the area. Click here to check out available artwork from the show . Thank you to everyone who came out and all the artists who made it possible.  You guys are all the best.  Thank you. Zach Tutor...
