With hockey comes a lot of sacrifice playing.  Actually with ALL sports comes sacrifice playing.  & tumblr has finally begun some quality discourse on it.  The thought process bellow started with this post: i know we all worship players who continue to play through injuries but there are so many players who, for example, have played through mild concussions and then ended up making them a lot worse there’s a line between toughness and stupidity and i don’t think enough sports fans realize that It’s liteweight & it only dances on the surface of the issue, but it got a lot of face time.  & it used the term “worship” which was the perfect word to describe what happens irl & on the interwebs. Fringe is a bundle of ethical problems.  Just one after the other.  The entire series rests on how Walter Bishop suspends the ethical & sacrifices EVERYTHING for his son.  It’s quite similar to Abraham & Isaac, actually.  Walter wants to save his son, & yet he knows that the “right” thing is not interfering with this other universe & plucking him from where he really belongs, & yet this is what he needs to do.  Saving his son, loving his son before all else, is his subjective truth that he lives by.  & yet this starts a domino effect of negative consequences.  Walter Bishop is NOT thinking in terms of utilitarianism.  He places two universes in danger for one boy & nearly dies himself because of it.  The show deals a lot with utilitarian thinking versus the suspension of the ethical.  Should these individuals put the entire world in danger for their one subjective truth, or factor in the greater good?...

I am by no means a Tiger’s Jaw fan.  Up until maybe 6-7 months ago, I didn’t even know such a band existed.  & I’m still unfamiliar with them.  & I still only know them for this one song.  It’s not a jab; it is what it is.  But a person I follow posted the song however long ago & I thought I would listen to it.  Because I had an immediate reaction to the title. Because even if I’m not a Tiger’s Jaw fan, I AM a SF Giants fan.  & the only Noah Lowry of merit I know of was a pitcher for a short time for the Giants.  & it’s almost fitting that the song is so painfully short , ending almost abruptly.  Because that’s how Noah’s career was.  It happened.  & then it was gone. Today’s topic will be Markiplier.  Markiplier is my favorite so he gets the honor of going first.
