still on an africa express kick

Just a few little pics:  [& i may or may not have just discovered that you can change the sizes to the original sizes of the pictures.  i may go back & change the rest of my blog LOL]

This is a setlist.  I thought it was awesome to see how it was constructed.  Clint Eastwood is a fabulous song, btw.

& here's someone's artwork of the whole experience.

all from verityflute.tumblr

It’s a very abstract, but very beautiful look of the aesthetics of Africa Express.  Because, sometimes, it is fun to look @ things outside of the political aspect.  & just look @ the visuals.  The forms of people & the like.  Like what that “art for art’s sake” mantra dictates.

But not all the time.  But sometimes.  Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from the craziness “social justice” viewpoints will drive you to.  Sometimes it’s nice to stop & take a few steps back & NOT over-scrutinize something.  Like actually ENJOY something for a change, instead of seeing how it interferes with these people’s rights or it erases these people’s cultural identities or it paints these people in a negative stereotype & perpetuates whiteness & ethnocentrism or whatever.

I mean sometimes it’s a nice break to remove yourself from politics altogether.  Of course in moderation.  If you keep yourself out for too long… that shit’s bad.  & that ignorance will make you suffer.  Of course you may not be aware of it, but you’ll suffer.

But fuck I’m hella off topic.

Correction: Damon is STILL a hottie.  Maybe not a YOUNG hottie, but STILL A HOTTIE.
